Tamiya TLT-1 Max Climber

The Max Climber was the second release in the TLT-1 series, a simple re-body of the original Rock Buster that added a mounting option for a standard 6-cell sub-C pack. It features solid axles, a twin vertical plate chassis, and 4-link suspension with cantilevered shocks. Though the truck is somewhat small, it uses a full-sized 540 motor mounted in the belly of the chassis. An unusual belt setup transfers power to a center differential, which has outdrives that spin metal dogbones to send torque to either axle. The truck can be easily configured for 4WS (four wheel steering). Articulation is good, which led many hobbyists to toy with small-scale rock crawling at a fraction of the cost of a traditional Clod Buster-based rig.
