Duratrax Vendetta
The Duratrax Vendetta is a chassis successor to the Mini Quake with a more sturdy and arguably more appealing form. It intends to be to the Duratrax Axis 1/8th scale buggy what the Mini Inferno was to Kyosho's venerable buggies -- an inexpensive, easy to use, miniature, electric version. The Vendetta's new tub chassis gives it a durable backbone and aluminum is used for shock towers, shock caps, and the front brace. A longitudinally-mounted motor transfers power to front & rear gear diffs via an aluminum center shaft. It's sufficiently well-powered for its size, but the stock shock oil & spring rates were too low for true offroad driving and it frequently bottoms out if not retuned. Upper shock stays were a weak point, later fixed in the Vendetta ST truck version. The use of a standard size servo and receiver make electronics upgrades a cinch. Aftermarket parts support, unfortunately was never strong.
